The Franko Group was founded in 2004 by Meg Deane Franko and Fred Franko. Together, we have over twenty years of combined experience working on behalf of non-profit and government organizations in such areas as education, health care, transportation and land use.
Meg and Fred started The Franko Group with a goal of supporting non- profit, community and public organizations, utilizing powerful policy analysis, research and evaluation skills. Today, Meg runs the company while Fred is directing a statewide after-school initiative.
Meg Deane Franko, Co-Founder/Principal Meg has spent her career in strategic positions with public and non-profit organizations, ranging from air quality, transportation and land use to early childhood and education.
Meg has expertise in policy analysis, program evaluation and group facilitation, and has successfully communicated many complex policy issues to the public, elected officials, boards of directors, and funders.. She has worked for the Maryland State Legislature and for national, regional, and local non-profit organizations. Most recently, she directed the Denver Early Childhood Council, a policy and program collaborative, and prior to that was Manager of Communications and Community Relations for the Regional Air Quality Council in Denver. Meg has a Master of Public Policy and Management from the H. John Heinz School for Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. She has been trained as a coach by Coach U and as a facilitator by Leadership Strategies, Inc.
Frederick P. Franko, Co-Founder Fred Franko has over a decade of successful experience in public and government affairs. Working on issues ranging from health care and education to transportation, Fred has successfully represented numerous interests to federal, state and local decision makers. He has initiated legislation that is now on the books in states from New York to Texas and he has influenced public policy here in Colorado. Fred understands the needs of businesses in the public policy arena, having worked with business interests as manager of public affairs for the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce for nearly four years. He also has over ten years of experience with the non-profit community and has a keen understanding of how to work with government officials to accomplish strategic goals. Fred has worked on political, candidate and issue campaigns. He has a Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and currently directs the Colorado After-School Network.
